I'm Imraan

A digital designer based in Cape Town, South Africa. After completing my degree at Vega Marketing School in 2020, I joined Pump and Abrasion’s in-house marketing team as a junior designer, fulfilling a generalist role. A year later, I moved to ITONICS in a multimedia role, focusing on end-to-end video creation and production, as well as motion design for UI and web projects.

Over the past four years of experience, I’ve developed a sharp eye for detail—not just in the execution of briefs, but in ensuring that each concept aligns seamlessly with its mechanics, resulting in well-rounded and impactful solutions. Driven by the principle of 'form follows function', I approach my work pragmatically, constantly refining processes to work smarter, increase efficiency, and enhance my designs’ real-world relevance.

I thrive in collaborative environments, where brainstorming and ideation fuel creative growth. I’ve also enjoyed mentoring junior designers, guiding them on briefs and providing quality assurance. My workflow is deeply rooted in storytelling and system-building, crafting scalable workflows and narratives that address real-world challenges.

**
Projects I hope to be apart of are not limited to but include, music video production and post, large-scale projects (series and short film) editing, working on production sites. I have a tendency toward longer form content, of higher fidelity and standard; projects that allow for deep engagement and system building. Projects where you can really sink your teeth into and craft quality work.

My every-other-week Newsletter

Perhaps the biggest reason for kicking off my own newsletter is that I kept catching myself, voluntarily oversharing to friends and colleagues about this new thing I've heard or just learned about. So, I needed an outlet before people started avoiding me. —Also, this allows me to improve my communication and language skills passively :P
